This one was a two call and got em deal, thankfully. I called the First Christian Church in Redding, CA who sent me to Faith House. Faith House is a transitional living center. The lady who answered was as sweet as southern sweet tea. She gave me a family, after at first declining because she didn’t want to be greedy. (I love humble people, they are too few and far between.)
This mother has twin four year olds and a three year old daughter. The gist of it is, she’s a great mother. She takes good care of her children and works. She’s going through a hard phase of life, but doing right for her children.
She was abused by her ex. The generality of it is that misery loves company. He got her hooked on drugs (easy for an abuser to do since he leaves you with no esteem and makes you feel worthless), not caring about her or his own children. She realized what was wrong and got clean, and ran from the relationship.
This isn’t your run of the mill Trucking Santas family, but she is doing what’s right for her and her three daughters, and she’s helping herself and them. If she sees others care about her and her girls as much as she does, it’s that little push forward that she needs.
Trucker Rich has this family. I only hope that if he dresses like Santa and uses his truck to bring them their presents, he’ll take a picture. I would love to see it.
